Message coming back from a wedding, i was caught in a very bad snow downpour with about an inch of accumulation on the road. i put the hazards on, moved to the right, and was going about 20mph in a 40 zone when i suddenly lost control.

dunno if you've ever felt your car slipping from under you, but it was not fun. the rear just suddenly slid to the right, and i was just sliding 45 degrees down a two lane route. i tried modulating the brakes, and steering in the direction the car was pointed, but that's a bit hard to do when you're pointed at oncoming traffic.

i ended up sliding down 45 degrees down a hill and did a 180 facing traffic that was behind me. thank the good lord that there was some distance between us and the oncoming traffic slowed down in caution, watching me slide. after i regained composure i started to drive 10mph and i lost control again and almost hit a side rail. so i limped at 5mph back home.

damn how the hell do you drive this car in the snow. i know my bridgestone potenzas aren't the most ideal for snow but that was absolutely horrendous. is there any way i could have regained control in a situation like that, and what would have been the textbook way to react to this case? be careful and stay safe...
